In all that you do, you should do it as if the only person you answer to is the Lord. For the work you where called to do isn’t in your name or power but the name of who called you. But many forget that which they do, the strength and ability no matter how easy it may same to achieve it, it still not by your might or ability. For this reason, your name is synonymous with God when you are doing His will. Your name may be called, but it is the Kingdom work that you are doing.

He who is called, He equips!

However, if you find yourself losing the desire, if you find that which you are called to do is draining you, be wise. Many times we serve others continuously neglecting ourselves. Though we are going through the motion accurately and others our blessed, no zeal is present. This is when you must step back and examine yourself. You must ask God to open your eyes to what is going in. One must understand that as they pour out but have no one to pour back into them, there own well becomes depleted. The exhaustion and frustration stem from a lack of proper nourishment and personal care.

This required sustenance can only be found when you quiet yourself and allow the word of God to minister to you, when you sit at the feet of a teacher to glean new insights, to enable the teaching to pour hope and love back into you. Where you bathe in the truth of your Father’s words as He states He will never leave you or forsake you. When He tells you to cast your fear and hope upon Him and take up His yoke with is light and comfortable, when you are reminded that when He set you free, He freed you never to be in bondage ever again. When you are reminded that He alone has a plan for you filled with hope and prosperity. That though you may face various trials and tribulations, that the weapons formed will prosper, and every deed against you will fail. But most of all that you are family and have been grafted into the tree of life and can only survive by the loving care of a loving Father who carefully prunes you to grow abundantly beyond what you mind can imagine.

I wrote this first for me to remember, and my soul to be refreshed. And share this with you, to examine yourself as we close out this year, this decade. If we are blessed to walk into this new year, we shall walk in confident of who we are, whose we are, and whose work we have been equipped to accomplish.

DECEMBER 3, 2019: SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS

I am calling you to a higher level of spiritual accountability. When you get lazy or slack in your work ethic, it will affect others more than you know. Make a decision to rise up to exhibit excellence and be the best version of yourself you can be, says the Lord. I have given you the ability to do all that I have called you to do, and I will help you. Psalm 16:3 As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.”
